The 20th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) comes off Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) and one of the biggest accolades on the night is the “Artiste of the Decade” ─ that’s the artiste who has been consistent and relevant for the past 10 years.
The nominees in the category “Artiste of the Decade” are Sarkodie, Samini, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, R2Bees, Becca, Efya, Naace, Joe Mettle and one other musician.
The debate as to who deserves the award is still ongoing on social media and it looks like the battle is now between Sarkodie and Samini judging from social media arguments.
The fans of Sarkodie are confident that he is the musician who deserves the “Artiste of the Decade” award looking at his enviable feats from 2009 to 2019.
Sarkodie has been consistent and remained relevant for the past ten years with back to back hit songs and numerous international nominations and awards according to his fans.

Fans of Samini are also of the view that he is one of the few musicians with great achievements any musician in Ghana can boast of ─ with some great hit tunes as well.
